Due to several risks that can often arise due to your oral hygiene care, it is important to never take any drastic steps that can make a situation worse. If your oral health care is inadequate, you will need to make small changes, but it is often best to speak to our dentist beforehand. To ensure your mouth gets the care it deserves, speak with our dentist about product recommendations and suggestions and ask them if there are any cleaning utensils that you can use beyond your toothbrush and toothpaste.

When caring for your toothbrush, always store it in an area where it cannot come into contact with other brushes. If it comes into contact with other brushes, germs and bacteria can easily spread. Similarly, never let anyone else use your toothbrush and never use anyone else’s toothbrush. For additional help with storing your toothbrush, make sure it is always stored vertical and in an aired-out container. In situations where it needs to be placed into a closed container, such as for travel, do so only for short periods of time to minimize the risks of contamination. Don’t forget to replace your toothbrush every few months so it can continue functioning as needed.
