Bahar Rowhani, DDS
Dr. Rowhani studied art and biography at Tulane University in New Orleans and later went off to graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 1995. After completing her residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, Dr. Rowhani returned to Northern Virginia in 1996, where she has been practicing dentistry ever since.
Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Rowhani has pursued extensive advanced training to enhance her dental expertise, including:
- Completing all four levels of the Pankey Institute’s continuums and their pioneering dental sleep medicine series in Key Biscayne, FL.
- Undergoing intensive training in TMJ stabilization and minimally invasive occlusal rehabilitation at the Stewart Center for Minimally Invasive Dental Medicine in Flower Mound, TX.
- Advancing her expertise through Levels II and III of the OBI Foundation of Bioesthetic Dentistry.
- Mastering Invisalign® clear aligner therapy to offer cutting-edge orthodontic solutions.
Moreover, Dr. Rowhani has been trained to work closely with a group of local surgeons and laboratory technicians through the ASIRD and other implant seminars to provide the best and most predictable outcomes for patients undergoing implant procedures. Her commitment to professional growth is unwavering, as evidenced by her dedication to over 100 hours of continuing education classes annually. This commitment not only keeps her at the forefront of dental technology and techniques but also empowers her to provide comprehensive dental care.
Dr. Rowhani is a proud member of the American Dental Association® (ADA), the Virginia Dental Association (VDA), the Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS), American Society of Implant & Reconstructive Dentistry (ASIRD) and the Academy of Sleep Medicine. She is also a member of Airway Health Solutions where she has been trained to evaluate and take into consideration the patient’s overall health and airway as she is treating their teeth and mouth to make sure that any treatment has a neutral to positive effect on their airway.
Her dental philosophy emphasizes building strong relationships with her patients, ensuring they understand her approach before starting any treatment. She invests significant time in a detailed initial assessment that takes into account their TMJ, muscles, teeth and “bite” before discussing a treatment plan. Dr. Rowhani is dedicated to educating patients about their options and providing conservative, comprehensive treatments, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout their dental journey.
On a more personal note, Dr. Rowhani is married with two grown daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family discovering their wonderful DMV, as well as going on walks, riding bikes, taking day trips to the surrounding cities, making arts and crafts whether its drawing, painting T-shirts or watercolors and experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes.
Ronald Hauptman, DDS
As a native of the Washington, D.C. area, Dr. Hauptman has been practicing dentistry in Northern Virginia since 1981. He earned his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. During that time, he spent a year abroad, studying at the University of Tubingen, Germany, and is fluent in German (admittedly with an American accent). In 1981, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland Dental School.
Dr. Hauptman is dedicated to serving the community and is an active member of various dental organizations. Among other boards, he has served on the executive board of the Northern Virginia Dental Society since 2002. Dr. Hauptman’s service to the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic, an indigent care clinic in the Baileys Crossroads area, has also given him great satisfaction throughout its almost 30-year history. In addition to being a frequent volunteer, Dr. Hauptman served as the president of the Board of Directors of the NVDC from 2001-2006.
Dr. Hauptman’s commitment to staying at the cutting edge of the dental profession has led him to hone his skills through frequent attendance at various continuing education courses. He is certified to provide treatment using the latest laser techniques. Dr. Hauptman is a graduate of both the OBI Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry and the Texas Center for Occlusal Studies. As a consequence of his passion for continuing education, Dr. Hauptman was named the Northern Virginia Dental Society’s Program Director of Continuing Education for 2006-2007.
Dr. Hauptman was recently honored by Washingtonian Magazine with a Lifetime Achievement Award in their “Top Dentists Hall of Fame”. This honor is bestowed on dentists who are named Top Dentist at least 8 times in the last 14 years.
In his free time, Dr. Hauptman enjoys fitness, bicycling, running and golfing. As an avid athlete, he has competed in and completed nine marathons. He has also completed numerous Olympic-length triathlons as well as a half-ironman triathlon. Dr. Hauptman and his wife, Melissa, reside in the DMV. When they can, they enjoy spending time with their dog, Blanche, at Bethany Beach, Delaware.
