Following a temporary crown or bridge placement, please ensure you follow the care instructions outlined by our dentists in Falls Church, Virginia:
- Avoid chewing anything for at least one hour.
- Avoid chewing sticky or hard foods with your crown/bridge such as bagels, almonds, peanut brittle, taffy, hard candy, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, etc. Chew on the other side of your mouth if you can until you have a permanent crown.
- Brush as you normally would. Floss carefully, removing the floss from the side of the tooth instead of with an upward motion.
- If you notice that your teeth are sensitive to pressure or temperature, use a desensitizing toothpaste such as Sensodyne. If the sensitivity worsens or lasts for more than a few days, please call our office.
- It is important for your temporary crown to stay in place. If your temporary crown/bridge comes off before your next scheduled appointment with Dr. Rowhani or Dr. Hauptman, please call Falls Church Comprehensive Dentistry at 703-241-0666. Be sure to save the crown/bridge so we can recement it.
